CVS is Monitoring My Chocolate Consumption

So I go to my local CVS pharmacy a couple times a month, which I think is probably typical. About midway through the year, I looked at one of my receipts and noticed down at the bottom, after all the typical stuff, a single line that caught my attention: “Hershey Candy Bars YTD Total: 1″

Are you kidding? They’re keeping track of how many Hershey bars I’ve bought? Don’t get me wrong – I assume in this day and age that they’re tracking all my purchases, but why would they choose to display this one for me on my receipt? On every receipt? Shown below is my most recent receipt . . . look, it’s still there. 1 Hershey bar. And I don’t plan on buying another one, either, so that’s how it’s gonna stay.
